 Dear Hampton Academy Families,

Second-trimester progress reports were sent home with any student not working to their best ability. For planning purposes, our second parent/student conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, from 11:45-5:45 pm (teacher in-service day).

Hampton Academy staff set high expectations for student achievement, as well as safe behavior in all aspects of each student’s program at this school.  Parents are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher to maintain close communication about individual progress.  A teacher conference can be scheduled by calling the main office at 926-2000 or leaving a message for your child’s teacher. We would just like to remind you that Power Hour Homework Club, After School Academic Assistance and Extended Day programs continue to meet.  Success in homework practice is a great predictor of overall academic success.

We thank all the participants in this year’s Spelling Bee and Geo Bee.  Congratulations go out to our top two Spelling Bee winners, Kaylee Rafferty and Ruby Snell, and also to our Geo Bee winners, Vania Ramadhan and Adam Cico.  Kaylee and Vania will represent Hampton Academy at state competitions.

Please join us Thursday, February 15, at 4pm, or Friday and Saturday at 7pm, for our drama club’s performance of “Crazytown”.  Tickets will be on sale during lunches or available at the door for $5.

It is important that family contact information be updated in the event of cancellations or early dismissal during the winter months.  If your phone number(s) or e-mail information has changed since the beginning of the year, we ask that you contact the school immediately to update information.  We will continue to use the School Messenger system to keep you informed of school events and/or closures.

This is the time of year, when traditionally, there is a lot of sickness in the school population, including strep throat, colds, flu, earaches and acute asthma episodes.  If your child is ill, please keep him/her home during the acute phase of illness and add an extra day for full recovery.  This is best for your child and his/her classmates.  Additionally, this is a good time of year to schedule your child’s physical for the spring and summer, especially if he or she will be attending summer camps.  High school sports physicals must be dated after June 1, 2018.  Please check with your physician’s office for the most recent examination date and plan accordingly. Completed examination records are kept in student health files. If you have any questions or need further clarifications, please call our school nurse, Karen Brand.

Our eighth grade students and staff continue to raise funds for their end of year activities.  We would like to thank all those families who have participated in and contributed to our fundraising efforts. This Saturday, February 3rd, grade 8 student representatives will be selling concessions during the Town of Hampton Deliberative Session at Winnacunnet High School auditorium.

Upcoming events are listed below.  More school, academic, and educational resources can be found on our school website, http://hampton-academy.sau90.org/   or call 926-2000 if you have any questions or concerns about a school program.

 Respectfully,

David O’Connor, Principal                                                     Anna DeVylder, Assistant Principal

Hampton Academy's mission is to provide an environment where all students are encouraged to reach their academic, artistic, social and physical potential in order to become productive citizens in an ever-changing world.  This mission is best achieved when staff, families, and community share the responsibility of educating our adolescents during their middle school years.
