Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

We wanted to reach out to you regarding updates surrounding COVID-19 as it relates to our students and schools.  We recognize that you may be feeling uneasy as we navigate this new situation in our community.  We want to assure that we will what we can to support you and your family during this time.  

 

With that said, teachers are preparing for remote learning and support from March 18 to April 3 at this time.  Tomorrow, on March 17, we will be asking that students pick up all materials from 12 noon to 4 PM at their student's school.  In order to facilitate this process, we are asking that 

Hampton Academy families pick up materials in the front lobby.  There will be designated tables by grade levels.  Chromebooks and chargers will also be available.  If your child has a Chromebook that needs repair, please return that to school and sign out a loaner.  We ask that you just take the materials that you need, and do not congregate, there are bags available if you need them. 

 

Teachers will be in contact with students and families during these weeks using a variety of platforms including Google Classroom, email, phone calls, and virtual meetings.  We will use any and all means to ensure continuity in learning during this unique time. 

 

The following district personnel are available to assist you and answer any questions you may have regarding resources, support, or information.  

 

  • Should you have specific questions or needs about our food services program, please reach out to our Food Service Director, Mary Borg 
  • Should you have specific questions or needs concerning student wellness, please reach out to our Director of Student Wellness, Janine Richards.
  • Should you have specific questions regarding PowerSchool and or adding additional emails or contacts, please contact our data manager Cheryl Solari
  •  Should you have specific questions regarding technology access or support with your Chromebooks, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Greg Limperis, Director of Technology.  
  • Should you have specific questions regarding special education or student services, please feel free to reach out to your child's case manager, the classroom teacher, or Mrs. Jessica Parsons, Director of Student Services.
  • Should you have specific questions about health concerns and/or medications regarding your child, please reach out to the school nurse, Karen Brand. 
  • Should you need to contact your student’s Guidance Counselor,  Angela Bowen,  (A-K) or  Brooke Bassett  (L-Z). 

For your planning purposes, report cards will be available through our online portal, PowerSchool, beginning Monday, March 30 at 3:00 PM.  Please note this date has been pushed back a week to allow teachers the time to prepare for this shift in teaching and learning. 

 

We appreciate your support, understanding, and flexibility during this unprecedented time.  We want to assure you that we are here to assist you during this remote learning opportunity.  Please feel free to reach out to us as needed.
