 Dear Hampton Academy Families,

As we enter our final weeks of school, it is important to remember our three Hampton Academy Expectations.  We continue to remind our students of the “Academy Way”, Act responsibly, manage yourself, and respect yourself and others.  Teachers will continue to assign homework and regular academic instruction will continue through the end of the year.  The last day of school is Friday, June 15.  Dismissal is at 11:30 AM.  Report cards will be available on line at the close of the school day.

We have a number of special events and activities planned for the last few weeks.  A schedule is listed below for your information and planning.  Wednesday, June 6, dismissal for students is at 11:30 AM for teacher in-service training.  Thursday evening, June 7, please join our talented band and chorus students for our Spring Concert at Winnacunnet High School Auditorium.  The band concert begins at 6 PM followed by the choral concert at 7:15 PM.  Grade level teachers will forward information about Grade 6 and 7 culminating assemblies.  For our grade eight parents, the Final Assembly will take place on the grounds of Hampton Academy, rain or shine, on Thursday evening, June 14, at 6:30 pm.  There is seating for 3 family members under the tent; additional family members may bring lawn chairs for the ceremony.

Mrs. Borg, our Food Service Director, would like to remind families to update their child’s account balance before the school year ends.  Please call her if you have any questions at 926-2000.  Our school nurse, Mrs. Brand, wishes to remind parents of students who take medication to stop by before the close of the year to pick up unused medications.  Additionally, the school librarian, Mrs. Saunders, would like to remind all students to return borrowed books by Monday, June 11.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Saunders.

This year, the Hampton PTA generously donated $4,900.00 for enrichment and $1,000.00 to the Hampton Academy library.  We use PTA donations to help pay for field trips, guest speakers, performers and enrichment events for all of our students.  Our deepest appreciation goes to all our wonderful PTA volunteers at Hampton Academy.  We would like to thank all the parents who have generously donated their time and energy for various events throughout the year.  We would also like to thank Brandy Scott for serving as president this year, as well as the PTA volunteers and executive board for their leadership, energy and dedication.  If you would like to get involved in the Hampton PTA, you may contact them through the Hampton Academy office.

The first day for students in the 2018-2019 school year is Tuesday, August 28; there is no school on Friday, August 31.  School will resume on Tuesday, September 4.  There will be a Welcome Back/Meet Your Team event Monday, August 27, from 6:00 – 7:30 PM for all grade levels.  Please look for an email message in early August with more information.

On behalf of the Hampton Academy staff, we hope you and your family enjoy a safe and restful summer.

Hampton Academy's mission is to provide an environment where all students are encouraged to reach their academic, artistic, social and physical potential in order to become productive citizens in an ever-changing world.  This mission is best achieved when staff, families, and community share the responsibility of educating our adolescents during their middle school years.
